The reading for Thursday, April 20, 2023 , is 1 Chronicles 22 - 24
Here it seems to me that we have the cliff notes of David's story surrounded by a bunch of names.
It is hard for me to understand why David could not build a house for the Lord because David was a "man of blood" yet he was also a man "after God's own heart." I do see here the David did get the ball rolling with building the temple and charged his son Solomon with building it.
