Reading the Bible Through

  John 10 - 12 Jesus wept. The shortest verse in the Bible. It's a powerful show of emotion. Why did Jesus weep? Surely He knew what he was about to do. Did He weep from the lack of understanding or due to death itself? Why?  I've just realized the text says that Mary was the one who anointed Jesus feet with perfume and wiped them with her hair when Lazarus was in the tomb. Then, further on in the text it tells the story of Mary doing those things. 

John 7 - 9   Still catching up...at least I'm in the right month! I find myself wondering if this argument between Jesus and the Pharisees is the fleshed out version of what was mentioned in the 1st 3 gospels. 

John 4 - 6   This evening, I am struck by the fact that Jesus stayed with the Samaritans 2 days although Jews did not associate with Samaritans.
