Psalms 102 - 104 The works of God are Wonderous! Here is says that Egypt is the land of Ham referring to Noah's sons. Ham was the son that Noah cursed.
Psalms 91 - 93 Psalm 91 now always reminds me of when I broke my ankle. The preacher came to the hospital to see me and choose to read Psalm 91. When she read the part about dashing your foot against a stone, she said it wasn't for broken legs, etc. She wrote a note in the back of her Bible not to read it for broken ankles, legs, etc. The memory still brings a smile to my face. I find today's Psalms comforting.
Psalms 79 – 81 Today, these Psalms remind me that God is BIG, VERY BIG and I am very, very small. God's ways are not human ways. We cannot understand fully.
Psalms 74 – 78 In some ways, Psalm 78 reminds me of Stephen's sermon because it speaks of the history of the Israelites as does Stephen's sermon. Still, in Psalm 78, there is less history to speak of and the history isn't necessarily in the order in which we have read it as we read the Bible though. Still the history is there along with God's justice and mercy.
I'm behind again. Psalms 71 – 73 This is new to to me: Cast Me Not Away Nor did I listen to the whole 16 minutes! Now we move to Book 3 of the Psalms. Asaph's involvement in the psalms attributed to him is unclear.
Psalms 51 – 55 The songs below came to mind as I read today's scripture. I enjoy some different versions, but am very partial to the music of my upbringing. Create in me a Clean Heart (Keith Green) Create in me a Clean Heart (hymn) For God so Loved Us For God So Loved Us (German 1 verse) Ere You Left Your Room this Morning Did You Think to Pray? On Wings of a Dove
Psalms 42 – 44 David's soul thirsts for God. David takes refuge in the Lord. David cries out for God's help. All the things David has done, we can do as well.
Psalms 22 - 24 Psalm 22: My God, my God why have you forsaken me? Some people believe Jesus was quoting this Psalm when he cried out these words from the cross. Also, in verse 18, speaks of casting lots and dividing His clothing. I also see this as a Psalm of David who is speaking about himself. I so appreciate David's candor about his feelings. Psalm 23: Perhaps the best known of the Psalms. Psalm 24: The Lord is the King of glory
